Hi, I'm Hilary
Marriage & Family Therapist, Professional Clinical Counselor
I am passionate about supporting people as they navigate through life's challenges. As a licensed marriage & family therapist and professional clinical counselor, I specialize in anxiety, ADHD, burnout, career and identity exploration, familial relationships, and building self-worth.
My dedication for helping people realize their potential started in the classroom. Before expanding my career to therapy, I was a certificated teacher in a K-5 special education program for 3 years. In addition to my teaching certificates in special education, multiple subject education, and school counseling, I hold masters degrees in counseling psychology and education. My clinical experience spans 7 years and includes treating anxiety, depression and trauma in community mental health settings, agency and school-based settings, and within my own practice.

I hold certifications in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I have also received trainings in the interventions of Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Existential Psychotherapy.
Outside of the office, I enjoy going for walks with my dog, Frodo, exploring the natural beauty Sonoma County has to offer, and trying to solve puzzles (of all kinds!).
My Approach

Transitions, whether positive or challenging can get overwhelming sometimes. We all go through different phases of life that may cause grief and stress. If you are feeling worried, on edge, experiencing sadness, or encountering roadblocks in relationships, you do not have to go through it on your own. Therapy is a supportive, objective resource and a safe space to process these emotions, explore identity, challenge patterns of thinking, and gain tools and stability.
Applying your strengths to support growing edges, I hope to reaffirm your connection with your intuition, assist you in embracing self-acceptance, offer varying perspectives to gain awareness, and foster cognitive flexibility. My theoretical approach is humanistic and attachment based; embracing the uniqueness and diversity of every individual, and eclectic; drawing from evidence-based modalities that work best for you.
Everyone deserves to feel seen and heard.
Whether you are seeking therapy for specific challenges or wanting to strengthen relationships, improve communication, determine your career, and continue down the path of personal growth and acceptance - I am here to support you. I consider therapy a collaborative process and an honor to be a witness along your journey.
Areas of Treatment
Anxiety can feel exhausting and overwhelming, like being on a hamster wheel you can't seem to get out of. I support you in regaining a sense of calm and stability by helping you navigate to the root of anxious responses, reground your nervous system, and reclaim your resilience.
